alanhinkel > 01.Great Egret (Ardea alba) Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve(GNERR)in Jackson County,Mississippi.16 December 2008.This photo was taken around 9:45 in the morning but I do see the loss of detail in the birds wings.This is my most popular photo of my collection.Thanks for all of the comments.They are greatly appreciated.Someone suggested I get rid of the tree reflection going through the bird.Please let me know what you think.The photo without the tree is in my Daily Photos Gallery beside this one.Thanks.

alanhinkel > 05.Baby Tabby in the Shade.I named him Red.Exif:I took this shot while I was in the shallow end of my pool.The pool is built up around 3 feet because of the high water tables here.So the pool digger only had to dig about 4 inches in the shallow end and 5 feet in the deep end.Anyway,that is how I got the low angle shot of this cute kitten.
alanhinkel > 07.Male Pine Grosbeak(Pinicola enucleator) just outside of the Yellowstone National Park.The Pine Grosbeak is a large member of the Finch Family.They are found in coniferous woods across Alaska,the western mountains of the United States,Canada,and in the subarctic Fennoscandia and Siberia.
